Large crowds gather at McGuirk Arena on the campus of Central Michigan University for the 2017 MHSAA team wrestling finals. Hometown pride is all over in the arena, but is particularly visible in the cheering section for the Hudson Tigers.
Hundreds of fans travel for almost three hours to support Hudson, wrestling their way to the school’s sixth division 4 state title. Hudson started off the match strong with senior Tylor Grames wrestling New Lothrop’s senior Zack Bailey, securing an early 9-0 lead. From there, Hudson maintained a comfortable lead over New Lothrop and came out on top with a 51-13 lead.
With dozens of signs in the crowd and many fans sporting matching orange Hudson wrestling t-shirts, small town spirit is in the air at McGuirk Arena.
